Ads now appear in Instagram’s user search results

Meta-owned social media platform, Instagram, has recently announced plans to incorporate ads in its search results. The addition of ads aims to help businesses reach potential customers who are actively searching for related products, businesses, or content. The ads will appear in the feed that users can scroll through after tapping into a post from their search results. Instagram plans to launch this feature globally in the coming months.

Apart from search results ads, Instagram has also launched ‘Reminder’ ads, which are now available to all advertisers. The feature allows users to opt-in to reminders for upcoming events or product launches, with three notifications from Instagram one day before, 15 minutes before, and at the time of the event. The goal is to build awareness, anticipation, and consideration for upcoming moments.

With more and more brands joining the platform, Instagram continues to add ads in various parts of the app, including Explore feeds, Reels, Stories, and user profiles. Instagram aims to give businesses more ways to get discovered and form meaningful connections. Recently, the platform tested a new ad format with Starz that made it easier for businesses to announce, remind, and notify people of future events or launches that they might be interested in. As Instagram evolves, businesses can expect more advertising opportunities to help them reach their target audience.
