By Exciting news for fans of the horror-comedy genre as the makers of two much-loved films, Stree and Bhediya, have announced sequels set to be released in 2024 and 2025, respectively. Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, will arrive in theaters on August 31, 2024, while Bhediya 2, featuring Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Deepak Dobriyal, Abhishek Banerjee, Saurabh Shukla, and Baharul Islam, is set for release in 2025.
The original Stree, released in August 2018, grossed over Rs 180 crore worldwide and was produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films alongside Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.’s D2R Films, with distribution by AA Films, Jio Studios, and PHARS Film. At the Jio Studios event in Mumbai on Wednesday, the Stree cast enacted a skit to announce the sequel’s release date. Later in the evening, actor Varun Dhawan unveiled the logo for Bhediya 2 and shared his excitement for the upcoming film in an Instagram post.
Both Stree 2 and Bhediya 2 are part of the same horror-comedy universe created by producer Dinesh Vijan. With such a talented cast and production team, fans can expect more laughs and thrills in these highly anticipated sequels.
